Friday, September 13th

8:30 PM - SpaceCat   SpaceCat is a hip, fun, and energetic variety cover band that specializes in performing high-energy dance music for weddings, corporate and private events, festivals, and anywhere else a great party is a must! Featuring 3 dynamic lead vocalists and a tight back line, they seamlessly transition through decades and musical genres with style and without missing a beat. This versatility, their excellent musicianship and vocal harmonies, and charismatic stage presence help make SpaceCat one of the most in-demand bands in the Detroit area.

6:30 PM - Cancel Monday   Cancel Monday is a versatile band that has performed in and out of the metro Detroit area, Chicago, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and surrounding areas, in venues ranging from private parties to large corporate functions to local festivals. Their upbeat live music and professional stage presence is the finishing touch to any function. In 2002, they entertained the Detroit Red Wings at their private Stanley Cup celebration, and they have also worked alongside of many local and national artists.

The gifted artist studied Jazz performance at Columbia College in Chicago, as well as studying guitar and vocals privately throughout his musical career. He has performed as both a solo act, and in a variety of bands in such venues as Little Caesar's Arena, St. Andrews Hall, and 20 Front Street. Putting his unique spin on original and cover tunes, his unexpected twists will turn your head and firework guitar playing will drop your jaw. Joined by local veterans Joe Auguglario on Bass Guitar/Vocals, and Jonathan Maltz on Drums: the David James Trio fuses the classic beauty of Motown, the sophistication of Jazz, and the infectious grooves of rock and funk to keep your feet tapping.

8:30 PM - Paulina Jayne   Originally from Detroit and now a Nashville resident, Paulina Jayne’s music is a melting pot of Motown, Rock & Roll and Country influences creating one genre she calls, “urban country.” She honed her songwriting skills at a young age, co-writing with some of country music’s biggest #1 writers, including Shane McAnally, JT Harding, Anthony Smith and Bonnie Baker. A vivacious and energy-infectious performer, Paulina has opened for heavy-hitters like Sheryl Crow, Rascal Flatts, Sam Hunt and Chase Rice and has shared Live Nation marquees all over the country with Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan. On three accounts, Paulina sold out a 400 capacity venue in her hometown. Paulina was sponsored by Ford Motor Company and is a national ambassador for the non-profit, Miss Amazing. She was recently featured in a national Folgers Coffee commercial on ION Television and is now featured on the Netflix Series, “Top Grier.” Now, her latest single, “Make the Moves,” is hitting terrestrial radio waves and can be heard on all digital platforms.

Made up of members from the exotic islands of the Caribbean and the funky streets of Detroit, this band will stimulate your senses with positive roots music. Roots Vibration’s sound is uplifting and fun, and features creative and seasoned musicians who have a multigenerational and multinational appeal. They bring decades of experience and authenticity to the Reggae scene.

Stop by and see the future of the Detroit music scene including some up and coming singer/songwriters and also some teen bands. Axis Music Academy has locations in both Birmingham and West Bloomfield and have been teaching music for over 25 years here in metro Detroit

8:00 PM - Thornetta Davis   THORNETTA DAVIS 2018 Kresge Fellowship Awardee, International singer, songwriter, recording artist, was awarded by the Detroit Blues Society the “Living Lifetime Achievement Award” and awarded a star on the Canada South Blues Museum “Walk of Fame”. In 2015 Thornetta was crowned “Detroit’s Queen of the Blues!” in a ceremony by the Detroit Blues Society, with proclamations from the City of Detroit, County of Wayne and the State of Michigan. Her labor of love CD entitled Honest Woman has recently been nominated by the Blues Foundation, for two 2017 Blues Music Awards, for best song (I gotta sang the blues) and emerging artist CD. As a winner of over 30 Detroit Music Awards, Thornetta recently received six 2018 DMA’s and has also won eight 2017 Detroit Music Awards, which include Outstanding Record Producer, Outstanding Blues Recording, Outstanding Blues Vocalist and Outstanding Live Performance. As winner of the 2017 Blues Blast Magazine Music Awards for “Best Soul/Blues Album, Big City Rhythm & BluesMagazine “Coolest Blues Song” Thornetta has garnered international attention by winning 2017 1st place in the 2017INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITING COMPETITION (ISC) for “Best Blues Song” (I BELIEVE EVERYTHING IS GONNA BE ALRIGHT) and the prestigious French 2018 La Academie du Jazz Award for “Best Blues Album” for HONEST WOMAN.

5:30 PM - Kysia Live Band w/ Monica   Greenstreet frontman, Matt Kysia, assembles a power packed lineup of Detroit's top Soul/R&B musicians for a body moving journey through both Classics and Top 40 hits. His All-Star roster will be highlighted by female vocal powerhouse, Monica Notaro from Cancel Monday, sharing frontstage duties. Together, they reunite their signature duo with a full band and plenty of Motown flavor to cap off the weekend.

Influenced from all styles of music, the singer/songwriter from Detroit actively performs as a solo artist and lead guitarist with fellow Detroit bands ONEFREQ and The NLR Experience. Beginning his journey on guitar in 2009, He has since then combined his instrumental flair with his ability as a lyricist. Trey continues to perform nationally and is currently recording new music to be released this fall.

With the renowned roots of Detroit's iconic music history in mind, Apropos hopes to channel the legends of the past and bring a revitalized, "Modern Motown" sound to the world.
