The Great American Lobster Fest - Detroit will take place at Hart Plaza.

The Great American Lobster Fest is the Midwest's largest Lobster and Seafood Festival. To celebrate our 5th year anniversary, we're taking the festival on the road and heading to Detroit's Hart Plaza over looking the Detroit River!  Enjoy live lobster flown in fresh from the cold waters of the East Coast, live music performances, family-friendly games and activities, unique craft shopping, land food options, and cold beverages. We'll also have plenty of non-seafood items to please the whole family! What's not to love!?

Additional info!

-We highly recommend that you purchase your Lobster Meal in advance to guarantee your Lobster feasting as Whole Lobster sales "day-of" will be limited and sold at market price!

-Lobster Meal ticket holders will have exclusive areas for meal pick-up, separate from all other day-of food purchase tents and access to ample seating areas to enjoy your meal. There will also be a private redemption line and seating area for VIP ticket holders.

-Our live lobster will be flown in fresh from the east coast, courtesy of LOBSTER GRAM. Additionally, the fest will feature a vast array of seafood selections, non-seafood related items, other exciting food vendors, snacks, sweets, and vegetarian options.

-The VIP Experience will take place within the festival grounds of Hart Plaza.

-Live Musical Performances will be featured on our outside main stage throughout each festival day and into the night! In addition to the special craft and art shopping available at the festival, there will be plenty of games and activities for the whole family.

IS THIS A FAMILY EVENT?

Yup! Plenty of fun for the entire family. Children ages 12 and under receive free entry.

ARE THERE ANY PRIVATE ACCOMMODATIONS AVAILABLE? 

Yup! Our VIP guests will enjoy many special accomedations and if you're looking to book a party or table at our event please reach out to Info@AmericanLobsterFest.com

CAN I BRING IN MY OWN FOOD AND DRINKS?

No, sorry. There is no outside food/drink permitted on the festival grounds

ARE PETS ALLOWED IN THE FEST?

No, so sorry - only service animals.

CAN I BRING A FOLDING CHAIR?

Yup! But they are only allowed in designated areas. Please note that security may ask to inspect your chair.

WHERE IS THE ACTUAL FESTIVAL TAKING PLACE?

The festival grounds will be directly inside of Hart Plaza.

WHAT IF IT RAINS?

Should it rain, advanced meal and VIP ticket purchasers will have access to various covered areas throughout the fest so you may still enjoy your meal and experience. Major storms that concern safety may postpone, evacuate, or delay the event at the discrestion of festival managament.

CAN I LEAVE THE FEST AND THEN COME BACK IN?

Yes, feel free to come and go as you please, you just can't bring in any outside food or beverages. 

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Our fest is totally casual! Do you have a fun festive shirt? Maybe some shorts with a lobster print on them? Wear them!  Do you wanna dress to impress in VIP? Go right ahead!

WHERE CAN I PARK?

There are 3 parking lots that we suggest parking at for the festival.

Miller Parking Garage

Cobo Arena

Ford Auditorium (Recommended for Handicap Parking)

 

 


Ticket Information

DO I HAVE TO HAVE A TICKET TO GET IN?

General Admission to the event is free. There will be a $5 suggested donation benefiting local charities of Detroit.

LOST OR CAN'T FIND YOUR TICKET ORDER?

You will need to locate your ticket to redeem any pre-orders. 

WHAT DOES A VIP TICKET INCLUDE?

Food & Drink Information

HOW DO I GET MY MEAL IF I PURCHASED A LOBSTER MEAL TICKET?

Upon checkin at the event, you'll be issued a wristband and meal token for you to redeem at meal pickup whenever you're ready! (Just get there before meal pick up closes at 9pm!)

 

CAN I GET ANYTHING ELSE WITH MY MEAL TOKEN BESIDES THE LOBSTER MEAL?

No unfortunately a Whole Lobster meal or Lobster Roll meal are your only options.

 

IS THERE A PLACE TO SIT AND ENJOY MY FOOD?

Yes - there is plenty of seating and tables scattered all around the fest. They are all first come first serve and we would like to encourage our festival goers to share tables with those looking to sit down and eat. Advance meal purchasers and VIP ticket holders will also have access to special reserved areas that are also first come first serve. 

 

HOW MUCH IS THE FOOD?

Given the nature of seafood - we have to price with the market, so we will not know what the final pricing is until right before the fest. We do know that items will range from about $4 to $45+ depending on the current market on the east coast.

 

WHAT TIME WILL FOOD BE SERVED?

 Advance Meal Pick up closes at 9pm each night. You must redeem your meal token and lobster entrée before this time. There are no refunds or exchanges for missing the meal redemption cut off time. Food and Beverages may also be out before 9 pm.

WHAT DOES MY ADVANCED PURCHASED LOBSTER MEAL COME WITH?

Your Lobster Meal will include your choice of a WHOLE (1.25 pound steamed red lobster) OR a Lobster Roll, all served with corn-on-the-cob, potatoes, a dinner roll, lemon wedges, and melted butter.

IS IT ALL YOU CAN EAT?

That sure would be nice, but no. We would have to charge a lot more for everything if that were the case.  Your meal should fill you up, but If you're still hungry, there will be plenty of other food options available for purchase. 

WHAT TIME WILL DRINKS BE SERVED UNTIL?

Until 10:30pm or 8:30pm on Sunday.
